Accessibility Statement
Website Accessibility
Last updated: July 2026
Tropical HTIRC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors, including people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.
This site has undergone a review and remediation process addressing common accessibility barriers, including but not limited to:
- Semantic HTML structure and landmark regions (navigation, main content, footer)
- Descriptive alternative text for images
- Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive elements
- Properly labeled forms and appropriately sized tap targets
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new content, publications, and features to this site, we work to ensure they meet the same standards. We periodically test the site using automated tools and manual review to identify and correct issues.
Known Limitations
Some older content, particularly archived publications and PDF documents, may not fully meet current accessibility standards, as much of this material was published externally by third-party journals and organizations. We are working to improve accessibility of content within our direct control.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier or have difficulty accessing any content, please let us know:
